Under the Actions column look for a setting that says open with EndNote and change to "Save File." The file can then be saved and opened in TextEdit or Word. If you are using Firefox, click on Firefox > Preferences > Applications.

Try to capture the reference into a text file to make sure it contains data.

After the Customizer has completed, try exporting to EndNote again. When the Customizer window appears, add a check next to "Additional Import Filters" and click "Next" twice.

In EndNote, click the EndNote drop down menu in the top left hand corner of the screen and choose "Customizer".

Check to see if the correct filter is missing from the "Filters" folder.

If you are prompted to select an import filter: Contact your librarian to discuss options.When exporting references from an online database into EndNote, the proper filter should be identified automatically.

If your computer is having difficulties with EndNote due to storage space, speed, or age, you may want to consider using a web-based citation manager, such as RefWorks.

If you cannot update to Catalina due to age or limitations of your computer, you may need an earlier EndNote version, X9.2.

The best option would be to update your OS to at least Catalina.

If you are running Mojave or earlier, the system will run 32-bit software, but not 64-bit.

If you are not prompted, select "Check for updates" from the EndNote 20 menu and update to the highest number (20.x) update you can. When you download EndNote 20, you'll be prompted to download an updater for EndNote 20.1 and 20.2.

All can run EndNote 20, which is the most recent EndNote version.

Depending on availability, install one of the options below:.Use your Customizer to uninstall EndNote 20.3.data) by Syncing to EndNote Online and/or saving a copy on another drive. There is a bug in EndNote 20.3 that can cause some users problems with add-ins (ex: EndNote Click, LibKey Nomad) and PDF use in general. If you do choose to update, let us know of any issues right away so we can report to Clarivate. EndNote may prompt you to update, or you can use "Check for Updates" from the menu. We have not added 20.4 to the download page, but any one with a UGA site license can update to 20.4. This version is meant to fix the issues with 20.3 (see below) however, you may wish to wait to update until your UGA EndNote trainers have tested it.
